March 3rd-4th, 2012 - Butterflies and Bullets (and Pale Ale)

Doesn't get much better than watching live music, with your wife by your side, and a frosty brew in your hand... especially when it is for a good cause!!  Last night I had the great pleasure and privilege of attending the Butterflies & Bullets : Rockers for EB Awareness Benefit Concert, a benefit show to help raise money for the treatment of a little boy with Epidermolysis Bullosa (E.B.), a very rare "genetic condition in which the skin and internal body linings blister at the slightest knock or rub, causing painful, open wounds."

From Chicago-style and delta blues, to straight ahead rock, to hair metal, and "mountain metal," the Butterflies & Bullets show had great, rocking, local talent for everyone.  Bands Tombstone Jesus, Opal Hill Drive, Urban Bleu, Parchman Farm Freedom Riders, and Ratt cover band, Wanted Man all tore it up, lending their talents to help raise awareness and money to assist the family of this brave little kid with the expensive treatments he must undergo.

I went with a refreshing Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to quench my thirst while enjoying these great bands.  Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, a traditional American Pale, has a crisp, hoppy flavor that goes down smooth with a clean finish... a perfect brew for enjoying an evening of good tunes for a good cause!

A BIG Brews and Tunes shout out to the bands and especially to the organizers of this great event: Tina Anderson, Sean, Young, and Casey Storm!  Talk about generosity, compassion, and heart!!  FANTASTIC JOB GUYS!!  YOU ALL ROCK!!
