Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Boulder Beer Company (Boulder, Colorado)
  • Website: http://boulderbeer.com/
  • Brew: Hazed Hoppy Session Ale
  • Style: American Pale Ale (APA)
  • Serving: 12 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • IBUs: 38
  • Ingredients: US Roasted Barley, 2-Row Barley, and Caramel Malt with Nugget, Willamette, Crystal, and Centennial hops
  • Pour: Hazy copper-amber with a creamy, 1-finger off-white head that holds its form well and leaves lots of cumulus nimbus-like lacing.
  • Nose: The nose of the Hazed is initially very hoppy and then followed by a bready and malty backbone.  There are aromas of citrus (orange zest and lemon) along with pine resin, malt, soft caramel, hearty bread, and herbal tea.
  • Taste:  Following the nose, the taste of the Hazed Hoppy Session Ale is characterized by earthy and dank hop flavors along with a strong malt backbone.  There are notes of pine, minerals, herbs, grains, sweet caramel, malt, and subtle spices.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied and well carbonated, the mouth feel is both crisp and creamy... very smooth!  The finish is slightly dry and spicy.
Overall pairing:  Motörhead's fast-paced, fist-pumping, and head-banging style requires a brew that goes down quick and easy, but still has lots of flavor and a bitter bite!  The Hazed Hoppy Session Ale from Boulder Beer Company fits that bill quite well in my opinion.  I picked up "Bad Magic" from my buddy Kevin at the Heavy Metal Shop (www.heavymetalshop.com)... and you should too!!

CHEERS... KEEP IT HEAVY and KEEP IT CRAFT!!!
