  • Musical style: Heavy metal, doom metal
  • Sound: Heavy, energetic, and , Ozzy's "Speak Of The Devil" proves that he and his band have the chops (and the balls) to take on an entire concert of  Black Sabbath tracks!  Ozzy is at the top of his game here sounding like he did a decade earlier!  Gillis takes on Iommi's guitar licks and solos with reverence and aplomb!  This man tears it up and can hold his own!  And the rhythm section of Aldridge and Sarzo is (in a word) brutal!
  • Major themes: Evil, darkness, the occult, fantasy, mythology, folklore, drugs (cocaine and marijuana), death, etc.
  • Notes: Out to prove to his former bandmates in Black Sabbath that he still had the chops, Ozzy performed 2 nights of Sabbath only tracks at The Ritz.
  • Tracks:

    Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Shades Of Pale Brewing Company (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: http://shadesofpale.com/
  • Brew: Double Trub'l Double IPA
  • Style: Double India Pale Ale (DIPA) / Imperial IPA (IIPA)
  • Serving: 12 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 9.0%
  • Pour: The Double Trub'l Double IPA pours a cloudy golden peach color with a 1-finger, firm and creamy white head with good sustain that leaves sticky, intricate lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is very citrusy, fruity, hoppy, and grainy.  There are aromas of grapefruit rind, navel orange peel, orange juice, tangerine, grassy hops, pale malt, and a hint of soft caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Double Trub'l Double IPA is citrusy, resiny, earthy, and herbal.  There are notes of pink grapefruit, orange peel, pine, bitter herbal tea, sharp minerals, white pepper, and a hint of honey.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium to full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp, very bitter, and dry, with a very dry and peppery finish.

Overall pairing: The Double Trub'l Double IPA from Shades Of Pale is a hop-forward, aggressively citrusy brew... perfect for the heavy metal onslaught that is Ozzy Osbourne's "Speak Of The Devil"!  Those punchy, bright, and citrusy notes go great with Gillis tearing it up, while the bitter, herbal flavors are great for Ozzy's unique voice and the boozy, malty backbone is all about Aldridge and Sarzo!

Cheers!!  Hails!!
