November 10th, 2018 - The Tumbleweed Blows Northward


Good evening friends!  The Meista here getting tonight rocking out to a pairing of Northward's debut, self-title album and a Tumbleweed IPA from Lewis & Clark Brewing Company!

  • Pour: The Tumbleweed IPA pours a slightly hazy deep copper-amber with a half finger, off-white head with good retention and lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is sweet, fruity, and hoppy.  There are aromas of sweet berries, herbal tea, orange zest, grapefruit, and a hint of pine resin.
  • Taste: The taste of the Tumbleweed IPA is hoppy, bitter, and malty.  There are notes of malted barley, black tea, pine, grapefruit, tangerine, bitter herbs, sweet biscuit, and caramel.  
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel of the Tumbleweed IPA is crisp, bitter, yet smooth with a dry, bittersweet finish.
Overall pairing: The Tumbleweed IPA from Lewis & Clark Brewing Company is a punchy, yet very drinkable brew... great for the wonderfully entertaining and fiery rock and roll stylings of Northward!  The hoppy elements work great with Jansen's amazing vocals while the malty backbone is great for thunderous musical prowess of the band!
