    Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Desert Edge Brewery (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: https://desertedgebrewery.com/
  • Brew: Belgian Pale Ale
  • Style: Belgian-style American Pale Ale (APA)
  • Serving: 64 ounce growler
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • IBUs: 22
  • Ingredients: Pale, Abbey, and CaraMunich malts with Perle hops
  • Pour: The Belgian Pale Ale pours a hazy copper-amber with a frothy, eggshell-white 1-finger head with good sustain and lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is characterized by a wondeful blend of fruit esters, spices, and citrusy hops. There are aromas of banana, carmalized plantains, light bubblegum, grapefruit rind, very light pineapple, orange peel, nutmeg, cloves, a hint of mango, light pine resin, herbal tea, and sweet toffee.
  • Taste: Hop and yeast-forward, the taste of the Belgian Pale Ale follows the nose with intensely bright citrusy, spicy, fruity, and earthy flavors.  There are notes of banana bread, plantains, tangerine, orange pith, herbal tea, light pine, cloves, nutmeg, white pepper, and sweet toffee.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium in body and moderately carbonated, the mouthfeel is very crisp, spicy, and slightly bitter with a dry finish and lingering yeast and spiciness.

Overall pairing: The hop-forward and Belgian yeast-foward flavors and aromas of the Desert Edge Belgian Pale Ale are perfect for the intensity, aggression, complexity and brutalilty of Blood Incantation's "Hidden History Of The Human Race" album!  Those spicy and fruity Belgian flavors go great with the more progressive elements while the hoppy pale ale flavors are great for the death metal intensity!  For an evening of kickass metal and deliciously, complex, crisp, and punchy flavor, I highly recommend both the brew and the album!

HAILS!!
