 Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Talisman Brewing Company (Ogden, Utah)
  • Website: www.talismanbrewingco.com
  • Brew: Hazards Triple India Pale Ale
  • Style: Triple India Pale Ale (TIPA)
  • Serving: 22 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 11.3% (POW!)
  • IBUs: 120
  • Pour: The Hazards TIPA pours a hazy deep copper with a rocky and creamy, off-white 2-finger head that dissipates very slowly and leaves lots of layered spider web lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is fruity, herbal, floral, sweet, bitter, and malty.  There are aromas of tropical fruit (mango, pineapple, passion fruit), citrus (grapefruit rind and juice, orange zest, tangerine, lemon zest), stone fruit (apricot and peach), black tea, bitter roots, pine resin, soft caramel, freshly baked wheat bread, and a hint of booze.
  • Taste: The taste of the Hazards is aggressive and complex.  There are big notes of tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit, guava, pineapple), citrus (pink grapefruit, tangerine, orange), bitter black tea, pine, mild sweet caramel, and a hint of booziness (that becomes a bit more prominent as the beer warms).
  • Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is paradoxically both smooth and astringent... with a sticky and somewhat oily character along with a lingering semi-bitter finish.

Overall pairing: Hazards is a bold, hop-forward ass-kicker... perfect for the aggression, musical prowess, and unbridled rage of Massacre's new album, "Resurgence"!  The bitterness of the Hazards is right in line with the gravely, broken glass, and sandpaper vocals of Kam Lee while the big, thick, boozy and malty backbone embodies the delivery of these mighty musicians!

HAILS!!  Keep it craft and keep it EVIL!!
