Good evening metal hellions and artisan brew freaks!  Happy Friday!  Let's get back to the metal!  The Meista here tonight rocking the hell out with a pairing of "Trident - Wolf - Eclipse" by Watain and a tasty and unique Wolf Of The Eclipse Roggenbier, a new release from the fine folks over at Proper Brewing Company!  Hells yeah!

• Ingredients: Proximity Rye malt, Pilsner malt, Augustiner lager yeast, and Hallertau Mittelfruh hops 
• Pour: The Wolf Of The Eclipse pours a fairly clear copper hue with a thin, bright white head that dissipates quickly and leaves only trace lacing.
• Nose: The nose is grainy, fruity, woody, and spicy.  There are aromas of peppery rye, resinous wine, and woody oak.
• Taste: The taste follows the nose with malty, peppery, woody, and fruity flavors.  There are notes of crackery biscuit, peppery rye bread, light grape juice, and hints of oak and sharp wine.
• Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied and well-carbonated, the mouthfeel of the Wolf Of The Eclipse is crisp, slightly sharp, yet smooth with a dry, peppery finish.

Overall pairing: Apart from the perfect name combination, the Wolf Of The Eclipse is a crisp and easy-drinking brew... making it a great foil to the blackened brutality and harshness of Watain's killer "Trident - Wolf - Eclipse" album!  Where the brightness and fruitiness make for that nice foil, the woody dryness and peppery bite in the finish are a great companion to the aggressiveness of the guitars, drums and vocals!
