Good evening!  Your drinking buddy the Meista here with another fun pairing for ya!  Although you all know me as a crazy metalhead, I also enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and genres.  Tonight I'm pairing a favorite non-metal band of mine, Missing Persons and their "Missing In Action" album with a delicious Flat Out Hefeweizen from Salt Flats Brewing Company!

  • Pour: The Flat Out pours a slightly hazy golden-yellow with a thin, yet frothy, bright white head with good retention and lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is spicy, fruity, and bready.  There are aromas of cloves, nutmeg, banana, German Noble hops, doughy bread, .
  • Taste: The taste of the Flat Out follows the nose with bready, malty, fruity, and spicy flavors.  There are notes of light biscuit, lighter malts, banana bread, cloves, grassy hops, and soft caramel.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied and fairly well-carbonated, the mouthfeel is crisp, spicy, and refreshing with a dry, fairly clean finish.

Overall pairing: The Flat Out Hefeweizen from Salt Flats Brewing is a very tasty, very crisp, vey drinkable brew... great for the wonderfully artistic new wave rock stylings of Missing Persons!  'Nuff said!
