Hello metalheads and craft beer freaks!!  The Meista here with another great pairing for ya...  a double dose of the mighty Malevolent Creation with "The Nuclear Blast Recordings", their "The Will To Kill" and "Warkult" double-disc set and a tasty King Slayer Pilsner from the fine folks at Talisman Brewing Company!

Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Talisman Brewing Company (Ogden, Utah)
  • Website:
  • Brew: King Slayer Pilsner
  • Style: Czech-style lager
  • Serving: 25 ounce crowler can
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • Pour: The King Slayer pours a clear, bright golden yellow hue with a 1+ finger, bright white, foamy head with great retention and lots of sticky, soapy lacing.
  • Nose: The nose of the King Slayer is grainy, grassy, and slightly fruity.  There are aromas of freshly cut hay, summer grass, wildflowers, a hint of apple, and bready biscuit.
  • Taste: The taste of the King Slayer is a very German... there are delicious notes of Noble hops, light grains, crackery biscuit, and a hint of crisp apple.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied and well-carbonated, the mouthfeel is very crisp with a dry, slightly grassy, yet very clean finish.

Overall pairing: The King Slayer Pilsner from Talisman is a tasty, crisp, and very crushable brew... a great  foil for the dark and very heavy elements of Malevolent Creation's killer "The Nuclear Blast Recordings" albums!  'Nuff said!

Cheers and hails... keep it metal and keep it craft!!
