July 16th, 2022 - Are You Worthy Of A Mercyful Fate? ...Or... A Corpse Without A Sol Power

 



Hello and hails evil-doers and beer freaks!  Today I'm pairing Mercyful Fate's kick-ass, self-titled (sometimes called "Nuns Have No Fun") debut EP and a crisp and delicious Sol Power Pilsner from Worthy Brewing Company that I picked up from my friends at Salt & Hops Beer Boutique!  Hell yeah!

  • Ingredients: Mecca Grade malts and Nugget, Sterling, Mandarina Bavaria, and Saphir hops
  • Pour: The Sol Power Pilsner pours a clear, golden-yellow hue with a bright white, billowy, 1+ finger head with great retention and lots of sticky, intricate doily lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is and malty.  There are aromas of noble hops, bready dough, biscuit, light apple, lemon zest, and sweet caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Sol Power Pilsner is characterized by bready, sweet malt, and light fruity flavors.  There are notes of noble hops, cracked wheat, light apple, light caramel/toffee, lemon, honey, and a hint of corn.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium in body and well carbonated, the mouthfeel is very crisp, very yet smooth with crisp, dry, and clean finish. 

Overall Pairing: The well-balanced, smooth, and very crushable flavors of the Worthy Sol Power Pilsner make it the perfect beer to throw back whilst rocking the hell out to the unique sonic metal blast of the amazing Mercyful Fate!  'Nuff said!
