Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Salt Flats Brewing Company (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: https://saltflatsbeer.com
  • Brew: Save The Lake Pilsner
  • Style: Pilsner
  • Serving: 12 ounce can
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • Pour: The Save The Lake pours a clear golden yellow with a thin, bright white head with good sustain and light lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is bready, malty, grainy, and slightly fruity. There are aromas of bready malts, crackery grains, grassy hops, light lemon, light pear, and soft caramel/toffee.
  • Taste: The taste of the Save The Lake follows the nose with grainy, light, fruity, and malty flavors.  There are notes of crackery biscuit, bready malt, light lemon zest, lemongrass, and sweet toffee.
  • Mouthfeel: Light-bodied and well-carbonated, the mouthfeel is very crisp and smooth with a clean finish.
  • Notes: "This Pilsner is part of a fundraising effort to help save the Great Salt Lake. Having lost half its surface area, the Lake is only replenished by wasted runoff water and droughtless precipitation - both in decline. As a major migratory bird area, home to microbial species and the source of Lake-Effect snow, a dry Lake could expose harmful chemicals to Wasatch Front residents. 5% of proceeds will be donated to local support groups associated with saving our Great Salt Lake."

Overall pairing: The bright, crushable elements of the Salt Flats Save The Lake Pilsner go great with overall metal punch of Warlord's fantastic debut EP, "Deliver Us" while the solid malt backbone goes well with the hard rockin' intensity and power that is and always will be the kick-ass Warlord!

Cheers!
