Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Golden Road Brewing Company (Los Angeles, California)
  • Website: https://www.goldenroad.la/
  • Brew: Ride On 5 Hop Citrus IPA
  • Style: American India Pale Ale (IPA)
  • Serving: 12 ounce can
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • IBUs: 35
  • Ingredients: 2-Row malts and Citra, Chinook, Amarillo, Bravo, and Saphir hops
  • Pour: The Ride On pours a lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is a citrusy, piney, herbal, and grainy.  There are aromas of grapefruit rind, orange zest and pith, lime, light pine resin, pale malt, sourdough bread, and light caramel.
  • Taste: The flavor follows the nose... citrusy, piney, and grainy.  There are notes of grapefruit juice, lime, tangerine, pine, black tea, tonic and minerals.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium- bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing with a dry, slightly bitter, yet fairly clean finish.

Overall pairing: The hoppy drinkability of the Ride On 5 Hop Citrus IPA is great for the inviting and wondrous rock and roll musical journey that is the mighty Foghat!  That grainy backbone is great for the warm melodies and heavy-duty rhythm section of Earl and MacGregor, while the hoppy bite is great for the amazing and meaty guitar work of Price and Peverett!
