- Pour: The Amputator India Pale Ale pours a clear, copper-amber hue with a thin, but creamy off-white head with good sustain and sudsy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is malty, earthy, and piney. There are aromas of sweet and bready malt, caramel, pine resin, cedar, and black tea.
- Taste: The taste of the Amputator India Pale Ale follows the nose with a balance of sweet malt and bitter hops. There are notes of caramel, fresh bread, bold pine, black tea, and bitter herbs and spices.
- Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is sudsy, bitter, sticky, and punchy with a hoppy, dry finish and lingering bitterness.
Overall pairing: The hop-forward aggressive punchiness, yet balanced flavors of Butcherknife's Amputator India Pale Ale is a great brew for celebrating Friday the 13th and celebrating the rock and roll lifestyle of the Red Rocker!! Those biting hops and caramelly malts are great for the chunky guitars and Sammy's amazing vocals!
Cheers!! Happy birthday and hails Sammy!! Keep on rockin'!!
