  • Brew: Fortunate Islands Hoppy Tropical Pale Ale
  • Style: American India Pale Ale (IPA)

  • ABV: 5.0%
  • IBUs: 46
  • Ingredients: Citra and Amarillo hops, Wheat, Two Row, Caramel, and Vienna malts
  • Pour: The Fortunate Islands pours a clear and effervescent golden yellow, but clouds up as it warms.  The head is a frothy, billowy bright white, 1-finger foam with good sustain and lots of intricate and sticky lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is fruity, floral and citrusy.  There are aromas of orange juice, orange peel, grapefruit juice, pineapple, peaches, mango, wild flowers, sweet caramel, and bready malt.
  • Taste: The taste of the Fortunate Islands follows the nose and is very citrusy, tropical, and floral.  There are notes of orange juice, pink grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon, vegetal hops, wheat, and a hint of caramel.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is crisp, refreshing, and a little tart with a dry finish.

Overall pairing: The crisp, complex, and hop-forward, yet very drinkable flavors of Modern Times' Fortunate Islands Hoppy Tropical Pale Ale is perfect for the electrifying melodies, harmonies, and subject matter found on Blue Öyster Cult's wonderful "Agents Of Fortune" album!

Cheers... and hails!!
