Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Perrin Brewing Company (Comstock Park, Michigan)
  • Website: http://www.perrinbrewing.com/
  • Brew: Perrin Black Ale
  • Style: American Black Ale / German Schwarzbier
  • Serving: 12 ounce can
  • ABV: 5.8%
  • IBUs: 25
  • Pour: The Perrin Black Ale pours an opaque ink black with a thin, light beige head with good retention and subtle lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is roasty, toasty, malty, and slightly smoky.  There are aromas of toasted bread, roasted malt, light milk chocolate, caramel, and very light coffee.
  • Taste: The taste of the Perrin Black Ale is toasty, roasty, and earthy.  There are notes of dark roasted malt, hearty multigrain bread, walnut, biscuit, light chocolate, burnt toffee, and just a hint of coffee.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel of the Perrin Black Ale is crisp, clean, smooth, and far lighter than I expected with a clean, dry finish.
Overall pairing: The Perrin Black Ale is an easy drinking, but tasty little dark brew that is perfect in color for Dark Funeral's "Where Shadows Forever Reign" and taste-wise makes for a great foil to the evil heaviness of the album's amazing tracks!

Skål and Hails!!
