  • Sound: Combinging punk-inspired thrash metal with groove and traditional heavy metal along with their silly sense of humor, the sound on "Lust In Space" is an in-your-face, over-the-top, heavy metal juggernaut of rollicking fun!  The guitar work and melodies are surprisingly wonderfully technical, the bass and drums are thunderous and induce crazed headbanging, and the vocals are the in league with all of Oderus' work that you know you love!

  • Brew: Space Ways Hazy Nelson IPA
  • Style: American India Pale Ale (IPA)

  • Ingredients: Nelson, Simcoe, and Motueka hops, 2 Row, Wheat Malt, and Oats
  • Pour: The Space Ways pours a hazy golden yellow with a frothy, billowy bright white, 1-finger foam head with good sustain and lots of intricate and sticky lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is fruity, floral, and very citrusy.  There are aromas of orange juice, orange peel, necatrine, lime zest, grapefruit juice, pineapple, mango, wild flowers, sweet caramel, and light bready malt.
  • Taste: The taste of the Space Ways follows the nose and is very citrusy, tropical, and floral.  There are notes of juicy orange juice, lime, nectarine, pink grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon, light wheat, and a hint of caramel.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp, refreshing, and juicy with a dry, clean finish.

Overall pairing: The crisp, complex, and hop-forward, yet very drinkable flavors of Modern Times' Space Ways is perfect for the electrifying and humorous heavy metal insanity found on "Lust In Space"!  Those punchy hop notes go great with the fist-pumping grooves of the mighty Gwar!  And I thought the design of the can was a nice compliment to the Kiss inspired album cover too!

Cheers... and hails!!
