Brew Info:
- Brewery: Talisman Brewing Company (Ogden, Utah)
- Website: https://www.talismanbrewingco.com
- Brew: Basin Hazy IPA
- Style: India Pale Ale (IPA)
- Serving: 32 ounce crowler can
- ABV: 5.0%
- Pour: The Basin Hazy pours a very hazy golden-yellow with a bright white, 2-finger, firm and frothy head with great retention and soapy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is citrusy, fruity, floral, dank, and herbal. There are aromas of fresh orange juice, orange peel, grapefruit rind, tangerine, mango, peach, lemon zest, wild flowers, a hint of pine resin, damp wood, and just a hint of caramel.
- Taste: The taste of the Basin Hazy follows the nose with lots of juicy, citrusy, fruity, and herbal character. There are notes of orange juice, pith, and peel, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, sourdough bread, mineral water, bitter herbs, a little black tea, and a hint of honey.
- Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp and very juicy with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
Overall pairing: The Talisman Basin Hazy is a refreshing, bright, and very sessionable IPA... a great foil to the blackened brutality and harshness of Watain's killer "Trident - Wolf - Eclipse" album! Where the brightness and fruitiness make for that nice foil, the bitter bite and dryness in the finish is a great companion to the aggressiveness of the guitars, drums and vocals!
