June 24th, 2020 - Citra Bomb Tom And Other Weapons Of Tomorrow

Good evening rivet-heads and hop-heads!  How about a pairing of Warbringer and a Citra Bomb Tom from Fisher Brewing Company?  HELL. YES.

Album Info:
  • Artist: Warbringer
  • Title: "Weapons Of Tomorrow"
  • Recorded: 2020 at West Valley Studios
  • Release date: April 24th, 2020 (6th studio album by Warbringer)
  • Record company: Napalm Records

  • Album cover art: Andreas Marschall
  • Personnel: Chase Becker (guitars), Chase Bryant (bass), Adam Carroll (guitars), Carlos Cruz (drums, rhythm and acoustic guitars, and keyboards), and John Kevill (vocals)
  • Musical style: Thrash metal
  • Sound: With nods to early '80s California and German thrash, yet still very fresh, modern, and unique, the sound on "Weapons Of Tomorrow" is classic Warbringer - fast, fiery, furious and vey aggressive!  Cruz and Bryant are a rhythmic juggernaut, Becker and Carroll will melt your eardrums with their ferocious guitar attacks, and Kevill proves once again why he may very well be the best vocalist out there from the neo-thrash movement!  This is killer stuff my friends!
  • Major themes: Violence, war, death, revenge, destruction, power, rebellion, etc.
  • Tracks:
  1. "Firepower Kills"
  2. "The Black Hand Reaches Out"
  3. "Crushed Beneath The Tracks"
  4. "Defiance Of Fate"
  5. "Unraveling"
  6. "Heart Of Darkness"
  7. "Power Unsurpassed"

Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Fisher Brewing Company (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: http://www.fisherbeer.com/
  • Brew: Citra Bomb Tom
  • Style: American Pale Ale (APA)
  • Serving: 32 ounce crowler can - poured into my new Viking horn mug!
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • Pour: The Citra Bomb Tom pours a hazy, golden-amber with a frothy, white, half-finger head that dissipates to a sustained, creamy film with sudsy and layered lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is characterized by citrus, tropical fruit, floral hops, and sweet malts.  There are aromas of grapefruit rind, pineapple, mango, melon, stone fruit, light pine resin, wild flowers, and sweet caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Citra Bomb Tom follows the nose with lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavors along with more subtle .  There are notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange, mango, peach, light pineapple, grassy hops, crackery biscuit, and soft caramel.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is crisp, dry, and slightly bitter with a dry, clean finish.
Overall pairing: The punchy hop blast of the Citra Bomb Tom is perfect for the fast-paced sonic thrash metal attack of Warbringer!  After drinking a can or two of Citra Bomb Tom, the songs like "Firepower Kills", "Crushed Beneath The Tracks", and "Glorious End" will become your battle anthems!

So get on over to your favorite LOCAL record store, pick up a copy of "Weapons Of Tomorrow", and grab a can of Fisher's Citra Bomb Tom Pale Ale... and prepare yourself for an evening of intensity, big flavour, machine gun fire guitars, and a fist-pumping metal juggernaut!

Cheers!!  Hails!!
