Hello and hails thrashers and hop-heads!  And happy Friday!  Your drinkin' buddy the Meista here starting off the weekend with another kick-ass pairing for ya... a bold and tasty Myrcenary Double IPA from Odell Brewing Company and "Wreckage", the killer compilation album by legendary thrashers Phantasm!  Hell yeah!

• Pour: The Myrcenary pours a fairly clear golden peach hue with a 1+ finger, fluffy and creamy white head with great retention and intricate lacing.
• Nose: The nose is fruity, citrusy, dank, floral, and slightly malty.  There are aromas of grapefruit rind, pineapple, mango, pine needles, hop resin, subtle sweet malts, and a hint of booze.
• Taste: The taste of the Myrcenary is resinous, piney, hoppy, earthy, and fruity.  There are notes of pink grapefruit rind, pineapple, hop resin, hop oil, grassy hops, pine, cedar, and more subtle caramel/toffee flavors. 
• Mouthfeel: Medium to full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel of the Myrcenary is oily, slick, yet crisp and bitter with a clean finish.

Overall pairing: The Myrcenary Double IPA form Odell is a bold, yet very drinkable DIPA... perfect for the aggression, fury, and sheer power of the classic thrashing tunes of Phantasm!  The punchy hop flavors go great with shredding guitars and Katon's distinct voice while the malt back bone works well with heavy duty rhythm section!  'Nuff said!
