Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Deseret Edge Brewery at the Pub (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: http://desertedgebrewery.com/
  • Brew: Sun Soaked Sour Raspberry Lemon Sour Ale
  • Style: Sour Ale
  • Serving: 16 ounce can
  • ABV: 4.2%
  • IBUs: 12
  • Ingredients: Raspberry and lemon puree
  • Pour: The Sun Soaked Sour pours a pinkish amber hue with a very thin, bright white cap that dissipates fairly quickly leaving almost no lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is fruity, tart, and lightly grainy.  There are aromas of fresh raspberries, raspberry jam, lemon curd, lemon zest, light wild flowers, and light cereal grain.
  • Taste: Like the nose, the taste of the Sun Soaked Sour is sweet and fruity with a sharp lactic sour bite.  There are notes of sweet raspberries, tart cranberries, cherries, lemon juice, light grains, and a hint of honey.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied and well-carbonated, the mouthfeel of the Sun Soaked Sour is very crisp, effervescent, and tart with a lip-puckering, yet clean finish.

Overall pairing:
Very crushable, very tart, yet wonderfully flavorful, the Desert Edge
Sun Soaked Sour makes for a great foil to the colossal metal aggression that is Master's brilliant "An Epiphany Of Hate"!  Those tart, lemony flavors go great with the overall punch of the album!  And you can definitely slam a few of these easy-drinkin' brews whilst headbanging to the mighty Master!  'Nuff said!

Cheers!!  Hails!!

P.S. Oh, keep an eye out... there will be an interview with a Mr. Paul Speckmann of Master coming in the near future!!
