Hello and happy Wednesday metal maniacs and craft beer freaks! The Meista here with another kick-ass pairing for ya today: "Echoes Of The Soul", the kick-ass debut album by Crypta and the punchy and dry flavors of Desert Edges Brewery's Dry Creek Pale Ale, another tasty offering from my main man Master Chad! Hell yeah!!

- Sound: Aggressive, heavy, and intense, the sound on Crypta combines bone-crushing rhythms with fiery shredding riffs and brutal vocals. There are elements reminiscent to Possessed, Sodom, and of course Nervosa, but "Echoes Of The Soul" is its own unique and wonderful sonic journey!

- "Possessed"
- "Death Arcana"
- "Shadow Within"
- "Under The Black Wings"
- "Kali"
- "Blood Stained Heritage"
- "Dark Night Of The Soul"
- "From The Ashes"
- Brewery: Deseret Edge Brewery at the Pub (Salt Lake City, Utah)
- Website: http://desertedgebrewery.com/
- Brew: Dry Creek Pale Ale
- Style: American Pale Ale (APA)
- Serving: 16 ounce can
- ABV: 5.0%
- Ingredients: Citra and Mosaic hops
- Pour: The Dry Creek Pale Ale pours a hazy bronze amber with a thick and creamy, 1+ finger, off-white head with great retention and lots of intricate sudsy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is a wonderful blend of citrusy, tropical, earthy, dank, floral, bready, and malty aromas. There are aromas of grapefruit rind, orange peel, light mango, pineapple, wild onion, wild flowers, barley, biscuit, black tea, and soft caramel.
- Taste: Like the nose, the taste of the Dry Creek Pale Ale is earthy, citrusy, herbal, and malty. There are notes of zesty grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, black tea, crackery biscuit, light onion, and soft caramel/toffee.
- Mouthfeel: Medium to full-bodied and moderately carbonated, the mouthfeel of the Dry Creek Pale Ale is very crisp and sharp, yet smooth with a dry, bitter finish.
Dry Creek Pale Ale makes a great companion to the death/thrash metal aggression of Crypta's excellent debut! The biting hop notes really pop when you've got Crypta blasting from your speakers! I highly recommend both the album and brew! 'Nuff said!
Cheers and hails!!
