- Brew: Divine Apparition Baltic Porter
- Style: Baltic Porter
- Serving: 25 ounce bottle
- ABV: 7.6%
- Pour: The Divine Apparition pours a deep, dark brown (almost black) with a creamy, light mocha, 1-finger head with great retention and lots of sticky, soapy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is a bold blend of earthy, roasty, malty, chocolaty, and slightly boozy notes. There are aromas of dark chocolate, dark roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, plum, dates, black cherry, burnt toffee, vanilla bean, oak, and a hint of bourbon.
- Taste: The taste of the Divine Apparition, like the nose is rich and complex with roasty, malty, sweet, earthy, smoky, and slightly boozy flavors. There are big notes of dark chocolate, dark fruits (prunes, dates, figs), and more subtle notes of vanilla, sweet caramel/toffee, and hints of bourbon.
- Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very smooth and velvety with a slightly bitter, dry, and boozy finish.
Overall pairing: The Divine Apparition Baltic Porter is a very bold and very complex, yet very drinkable brew... perfect for the NWOBHM intensity and heavy metal punch that is the legendary Witchfynde's original albums! Those rich, chocolaty notes go great with the dark vibe, while the boozy kick is great for the overall metal attack!
Happy anniversary and congratulations on a very successful 1st year ORB!!
Cheers and hails!!
