March 1st, 2023 - Red, White, And Double Ripp'd Hasselhopf!

 

Hello and happy Wednesday rivet heads and hopheads!  The Meista here today thrashing the hell out to a pairing of "Red, White, And Ripp'd", the debut album by Canadian thrash band Rippr'd and a Double Ripped Hasselhopf Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale from Illuminated Brew Works!  Hell yeah!  To quote Rippr'd: "Grab a beer and enjoy the ride..."

• Pour: The Double Ripped Hasselhopf pours the color of a fresh squeezed orange juice.  The very hazy brew displays a frothy and creamy, bright white, 2+ finger head with great retention and lots of sticky, sudsy lacing.
• Nose: The nose is a nice balance of big, citrusy, and tropical aromatic punch with sweeter malts.  There are notes of grapefruit, orange juice, tangerine, apricot, peach, mango, guava, pine resin, wildflowers, and sweet caramel/toffee. 
• Taste: With loads of sweet and juicy citrus and tropical fruit flavors, Double Ripped Hasselhopf is characterized by notes of orange juice, tangerine, papaya, mango, melon, light pineapple, black tea, resiny pine, and a well-balanced and sweet malt backbone. 
• Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is crisp and juicy, yet creamy and smooth with a sweet and slightly boozy finish.

Overall pairing: The Double Ripped Hasselhopf Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale is a punchy, hoppy, and aggressive brew that is also totally crushable... perfect for the metal onslaught that is Rippr'd's kickass "Red, White, And Ripp'd"!  I can't think of anything better than a bold brew (or 2) to throw back whilst pumping your fist and banging your head to these bad asses!  'Nuff said!
