Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Revision Brewing Company (Sparks, Nevada)
  • Website: https://revisionbrewing.com/
  • Brew: Nocturnal Visions German-Style Black Lager
  • Style: German-Style Black Lager / Schwarzbier
  • Serving: 16 ounce can
  • ABV: 4.75%
  • IBUs: 24
  • Pour: The Nocturnal Visions pours an opaque, deep and dark brown (almost black) hue with a very thin, light mocha head that dissipates rather quickly, leaving only trace lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is a well-balanced blend of roasted and toasted malts, dark chocolate and sweeter malt notes.  There are aromas of toasted bread, dark roasted malts, hints of coffee, dark chocolate, and burnt toffee.
  • Taste: The flavor follows the nose... malty, roasty, and slightly smoky.  There are notes of toasted and roasted malts, barley, light hops, burnt toffee, and hints of liquid smoke.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium- bodied, the mouthfeel is crisp and smooth with moderate carbonation and a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Overall pairing: The malty drinkability of the Revision Nocturnal Visions German-Style Black Lager is great for the inviting and wondrous rock and roll musical journey that is the mighty Foghat!  That malty backbone is great for the warm melodies and heavy-duty rhythm section of Earl and MacGregor, while the light hops and hints of spice are great for the amazing guitar work of Price and Peverett!
