Hello evil-doers, metal maniacs, and hop heads! Happy Friday! Today I'm pairing Black Sabbath's final studio album, "13" and a hoppy and crushable Twelve Cold IPA from TRVE Brewing, which was brewed in celebration of TRVE's 12th anniversary! Hells yeah!!

- Pour: The Twelve pours a slightly hazy, golden orange-yellow hue with a frothy and firm, eggshell white, 1-finger head with good retention and sudsy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is characterized by citrusy, grainy, and herbal aromas. There are notes of grapefruit rind, tangerine, lightly toasted bread, crackery grains, light herbs, a hint of pine, and very soft caramel.
- Taste: The taste follows the nose with lots of nuanced citrusy and crackery lager like flavors. There are notes of grapefruit, light herbs (thyme and rosemary), light cereal grains, crackery biscuit, and hints of soft caramel/toffee.
- Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and moderately carbonated, the mouthfeel is very crisp and clean with a very dry, slightly bitter finish.
Overall pairing: The punchy and hoppy flavors and aromas of the TRVE Twelve Cold IPA are a perfect foil for the heavy, sludgy, headbanging rock and roll of the mighty Black Sabbath! Those crisp flavors enhance the precision and technical mastery of Iommi's guitars and Geezer's bass, while the bitter hop notes are perfect for the darker lyrics and Ozzy's iconic vocals!
