Brew Info:

  • Brewery: Epic Brewing Company (Salt Lake City, Utah)
  • Website: http://www.epicbrewing.com/
  • Brew: Los Locos Mexican-Style Lager
  • Style: Mexican Lager
  • Serving: 16 ounce can
  • ABV: 5.0%
  • Ingredients: Amarillo hops, Weyerman Pilsner, Carapils, and Yellow Corn malts, lime juice, and sea salts
  • Pour: The Los Locos pours a clear, golden yellow hue with a bright white, frothy, 2-finger head with great retention and lots of sudsy and sustained lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is characterized by citrusy, slightly sweet, and slightly salty aromas.  There are notes of freshly cut limes, corn chips, toasted white bread, a salted rim, and a hint of honey.
  • Taste: Well-balanced, the taste follows the nose with citrusy, slightly malty, slightly sweet, and salty flavors.  There are notes of tart lime juice and zest, corn bread, crackery biscuity, a splash of honey, and a pinch of sea salt.
  • Mouthfeel: Light-bodied and well carbonated, the mouthfeel of the Los Locos is very crisp with a clean finish.

Overall pairing: The crushable, very drinkable tastiness of Epic's Los Locos Mexican-Style Lager is perfect for an evening of rocking the hell out to the unique and fun music of Ghost!  The citrusy and salty flavors go great with Papa's vocals, while the more malty and grainy notes go great with the richly textured musical passages and themes.  I also dig how the can label looks with album cover art!  'Nuff said!

Cheers!!  Rock on!!
