September 28th, 2025 - I Wonder... If I Should Have Another Fisher Beer

 


Hello and happy Sunday beer freaks and rockers and rollers!  The Meista here today pairing "I Wonder...", the debut full-length album by Salt Lake punk band Bad Yodelers with a very crushable Fisher Beer from my friends at Fisher Brewing Company!  Hell yeah!  This pairing is dedicated to the late, great Brad Barker, the consummate Salt Lake punk rocker!

  • Pour: The Fisher Beer pours clear, golden yellow hue with a frothy, bright white head, 1+ finger head with good retention and lots of sudsy lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is grainy, malty, and slightly sweet.  There are aromas of crackery and sweet biscuit, freshly baked bread, light grassy hops, and a hint of soft caramel.
  • Taste: Well-balanced, the taste of the Fisher Beer is malty, grainy, grassy, and slightly sweet.  There are notes of crackery biscuit, cereal grains, a hint of lemon zest, light grassy hops, and soft caramel.
  • Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied with good carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp and very smooth with a clean, dry finish.

Overall pairing: The tasty, crushable character of Fisher's delicious and historic Fisher Beer is a perfect for the fist-pumping punk rock goodness that is Bad Yodelers!  Also, Fisher Brewing is located just a few doors down from where I saw Bad Yodelers in 1990 at the long-gone punk club The Pompadour!   Their show that night still stands as one of the craziest shows I've ever witnessed!   'Nuff said!
