August 23rd, 2014 - Alted Up Blind Rage

Guten abend my metal and craft brew brethren!   The Meista here with another rockin' pairing for you... tonight I'm going with Accept's brand new album (out this week) "Blind Rage" (Limited Edition Digipak) and an Alt from Bohemian Brewery!

Released on August 19th, 2014, "Blind Rage" is the 14th studio album by the German metal band Accept.  As tight and heavy as ever, the boys in the band have nailed it once again with another metal juggernaut!  "Blind Rage" has that classic Accept sound, but is fresh, relevant, and most importantly, it rocks!  Mark Tornillo's raspy broken glass and gravel vocals are the perfect foil for the rich and soaring guitar work of Wolf Hoffmann and Herman Frank!  Meanwhile, Peter Baltes (bass) and Stefan Schwarzmann (drums) round out the sound with a thunderous and driving rhythmic onslaught!  This album (like everything Accept does) packs a heavy punch, but with a whole lotta soul and heart.  Love this band, love this album!!  Here's the killer full track list:
  1. "Stampede"
  2. "Dying Breed"
  3. "Dark Side Of My Heart"
  4. "Fall Of The Empire"
  5. "Trail Of Tears"
  6. "Wanna Be Free"
  7. "200 Years"
  8. "Bloodbath Mastermind"
  9. "From Ashes We Rise"
  10. "The Curse"
  11. "Final Journey"
The Limited Edition Digipak version includes a DVD of the band's April 12th, 2013 performance in Teatro Caupolicán, Santiago, Chile during the "Stalingrad" Tour!

Originating from Düsseldorf, Germany, the Alt is a traditional Altbier or German brown ale.  The Alt pours a cola brown-red/caramel with a thin white head that leaves wispy lacing.  The nose is a wonderful blend of rich grains and malts with crisp hops and just a hint of soapiness.  Light bodied, the mouthfeel is both creamy and refreshing.  The taste is a wonderful blend of malty sweetness and hops.  There are notes of caramel, hearty bread, fresh grains, and spicy hops.  The finish is marked by a mellow and lingering bitter peppery note.  Coming in at 5.3% ABVs and 48 IBUs, the Alt is both very drinkable and assertive.  It's that rich and assertive flavor that works so well with "Blind Rage"!

PROST... and HAILS!!!
