September 5th, 2014 - Legacy Of The Brighton Revolver

Tonight I'm pairing a Brighton Revolver White India Pale Ale (IPA) from Uinta Brewing Company and "Legacy" by Girlschool!  Hell... yeahs!!

A very sessionable 4% ABV white IPA, the Brighton Revolver White IPA fresh from the tap at Uinta Brewing Company's pub is a thirst-quenching .  It is brewed with 40% malted wheat and dry hopped with a proprietary hop blend created by Loftus Ranches and Hopunion for Ales for ALS™ (http://www.alesforals.com/).   The blend includes Citra, HBC 291, HBC 344, HBC 366, HBC 436, and Mosaic hops.  Combining crisp wheat features of an American Weizen and the citrusy and floral features of an IPA, the Brighton Revolver is a very grassy, floral, and herbal brew.  It pours a hazy straw gold with a thin, bright white head that displays good lacing.  The nose is a blend of hops and malts.  There are aromas of summer grassy, grapefruit rind, and crackery biscuit.  Light bodied and moderately carbonated, the mouthfeel is sharp and tingly, but also smooth.  The taste is very hoppy and clean.  There are notes of lemon grass, cracked wheat, lemon zest, grapefruit, tangerine, and white pepper.  Clean, crisp, and refreshing, this beer has kick... and goes great with the punchiness of the might that is Girlschool!!

Released on November 4th, 2008 in the U.S. through Wacken Records / SPV, "Legacy" is the wonderfully heavy 11th studio album by English hard rockers Girlschool.  The album (as well as the song "Legend") is dedicated to former Girlschool guitarist Kelly Johnson who died of cancer in 2007 and also celebrates the band's 30th anniversary.  Girlschool is Kim McAuliffe on rhythm guitar, and lead and backing vocals; Enid Williams on bass, and lead and backing vocals; Jackie "Jax" Chambers on lead guitar and backing vocals; Denise Dufort on drums and backing vocals.  The album also includes the following legendary guest musicians:
