  • Sound: Chunky, aggressive, hard-hitting, and passionate blues rock that will melt your face, peel the paint off your walls, and stab you in the heart... and you will come back for more!  Moore's guitar work is as fiery, powerful, and honest as it always was on this album.  Shit just listen to the guitar solo on "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know"... devastating!!

Brew Info:
  • Brewery: To Øl (Copenhagen, Denmark)
  • Website: http://to-ol.dk/home/
  • Brew: Dangerously Close To Stupid
  • Style: Imperial India Pale Ale (IIPA)
  • Serving: 12 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 9.3%
  • Ingredients: Citra and Centennial hops with Pilsner and Melanoidin malts
  • Pour: A very cloudy golden peach hue with a big, frothy 2-finger head with great retention and intricate lacing displayed throughout.
  • Nose: The nose is characterized by citrus, pine resin, sweet malts, and floral and herbal hops.  There are aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pine, cedar, light toffee, fresh herbs, and wild flowers.
  • Taste: Like the nose, the flavor of the Dangerously Close To Stupid is a complex, well-balanced, and brilliantly tasty IIPA.  There are notes of freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice, mango, melon, tangerine, and orange zest along with pine sap, white pepper, black tea, and burnt toffee.
  • Mouthfeel: Moderately carbonated and medium to full-bodied, the Dangerously Close To Stupid's mouthfeel is sticky, oily, crisp, and punchy with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
Overall pairing: This is the real deal my friends... both the album and the brew!!  Moore's guitar tone is monstrous... just like the hoppy kick in the Dangerously Close To Stupid!  The complexity, integrity, and artisan touch of music is right in line with that of the beer.  I can think of nothing better to accompany the hoppy, bitter, well-balanced, and punchy bite of the Dangerously Close To Stupid than that of Moore's finale, "Bad For You Baby"!

Cheers and RIP Gary Moore!!
