Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Mother Earth Brewing Company (Vista, California)
  • Website: http://www.motherearthbrewco.com/
  • Brew: Boo Koo India Pale Ale
  • Style: American India Pale Ale (IPA)
  • Serving: 22 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 6.5%
  • IBUs: 65
  • Ingredients: Pilsen grain and Mosaic hops
  • Pour: Pale golden-orange with a 1 finger, creamy head that dissipate to a snowy cap with good lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is a really nice, well-balanced blend of citrus, tropical fruit, big pine resin, and grassy hops.  There are aromas of pink grapefruit, mango, tangerine, cracker, subtle caramel, and spicy herbs.
  • Taste: Like the nose, the flavors in this beaucoup IPA are characterized by lots of foresty pine, cedar, citrus (pink grapefruit, orange zest, tangerine, and lemon), mango, pineapple, peppery spice, and earthy and grassy herbs.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the foamy mouthfeel is creamy, yet crisp and refreshing with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
Overall pairing: I'm not sure if there are many brews out there that can truly compliment the brutal, aggressive, and in-your-face nature of Lamb Of God's "Resolution", but Boo Koo India Pale Ale from Mother Earth Brewing Company does a great job of keeping a steady pace.  The piney, punchy, bitter flavors of the Boo Koo work well with the overall feel of the album, while the fruitier and maltier flavors go with the complexity of guitar work and Blythe's very honest, very real lyrics!

HAILS!!
