Hello and happy Xmas Eve!  The Meista here today pairing "The Colour And The Shape" by the Foo Fighters and a Doubledelic IPA from Hop Valley Brewing Company!

  • Pour: The Doubledelic pours a hazy golden orange with a thin eggshell head with good sustain and soapy lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is dank, earthy, citrusy, and herbal.  There are aromas of pine resin, grapefruit rind, orange zest, tangerine, black tea, and soft caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Doubledelic is citrusy, herbal, bitter, and malty.  There are notes of grapefruit juice and rind, orange zest and pith, lemon zest, black tea, roasted grains, and sweet toffee.  
  • Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel of the Doubledelic is sharp, bitter, yet smooth with a very dry, bitter finish.
Overall pairing: The Hop Valley Doubledelic IPA is a hop-forward, bold, punchy, aggressive brew... perfect for the punky, punchy, intense power of Foo Fighters "The Colour And The Shape"!
