May 14th, 2019 - My Milkshake Brings The Boys To the Race Track


Good evening and happy Tuesday rockers and artisan brew drinkers!  The Meista here pairing Queen's amazing album "A Day At The Races" and a very crushable Malted Milkshake Style IPA from Full Sail Brewing!

  • Pour: The Malted Milkshake Style IPA pours a hazy golden-yellow with a 1+ finger, frothy and creamy white head with good retention and sticky, layered lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is citrusy, fruity, floral, and sweet.  There are aromas of orange, tangerine, grapefruit, mango, vanilla bean, fresh cream, light wildflowers, and soft caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Malted Milkshake Style IPA is characterized by fruity, citrusy, and malty flavors.  There are notes of orange juice, tangerine, mango, pineapple, light grapefruit, vanilla, cream, and a hint of toffee.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp, juicy, and somewhat hoppy, yet creamy and smooth with a dry, slightly bitter finish.  

Overall pairing:  The Full Sail Malted Milkshake Style IPA is a very crushable, crisp, and refreshing brew... great for the hard rockin' that is Queen's "A Day At The Races"!  Those crisp, sweet, fruity, complex, hoppy notes pair so very well with the hard hitting punch of the truly brilliant "A Day At The Races"!
