Good evening rockers and craft brew lovers! The Meista here with another killer pairing for you! Tonight I'm banging my head to New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) godfathers Blitzkrieg and their debut album "A Time Of Changes" with a delicious Dry Bavarian Hefeweizen Ale from UTOG Brewing Company!
Album Info:
- Artist: Blitzkrieg

- Musical style: Heavy metal, NWOBHM, speed metal
- Sound: Probably one of the most important NWOBHM albums recorded in my humble opinion, "A Time Of Changes" delivers! It has everything I love about that early '80s British heavy metal sound: fast and fiery riffs, machine gun fire drumming, soaring vocals, and dark lyrics! And the song "Blitzkrieg" has to be one of the greatest heavy metal songs ever!
- Major themes: Destruction, death, war, the end of the world, revenge, etc.
- Tracks:
- "Ragnarok / Inferno"
- "Blitzkrieg"
- "Pull The Trigger" (Satan cover)
- "Armageddon"
- "Hell To Pay"
- "Vikings"
- "A Time Of Changes"
- "Saviour"

- Brew: Dry Bavarian Hefeweizen Ale
- Style: German Hefeweizen
- Serving: 12 ounce can
- ABV: 5.0%

- Pour: The Dry Bavarian Hefeweizen Ale pours a very hazy, bright straw-yellow hue with lots of bubbly effervescence and a frothy, bright white, 1-finger head that dissipates to a thin cap with soapy lacing.
- Nose: The nose is characterized by fruit ester, bright grains, and spicy yeast. There are aromas of freshly cut banana, banana pudding, lemon curd, lemon zest, sourdough bread, light malt, and hints of cloves and nutmeg.
- Taste: The taste of the Dry Bavarian Hefeweizen Ale is in league with the nose with lots of fruity, grainy, and spicy flavors. There are notes of banana, lemon zest, and doughy bread along with clove, allspice, and white pepper in the finish.
- Mouthfeel: This easy drinking brew is light-bodied and well-carbonated. The mouthfeel is very crisp, yet very smooth with a dry, spicy finish.
Overall pairing: The Dry Bavarian Hefeweizen Ale from UTOG Brewing is a deliciously spicy hefe in the German tradition, which makes it a great companion to the kickass riffs of Blitzkrieg's classic "A Time Of Changes"! 'Nuff said!
Cheers and hails!!
