November 6th, 2022 - Heading Down The Road With The Original Soundtrack As My Background Music

 




Hello and happy Sunday!  The Meista here this today getting a little mellow with a pairing of the great "The Original Soundtrack" album by the amazing 10cc and a deliciously hoppy Down The Road West Coast India Pale Ale from the fine folks from Level Crossing Brewing Company!  So I realize this isn't heavy metal or even hard rock, but I really dig this album!  :)

    • Pour: The Down The Road pours a fairly clear, dark bronze-amber hue with a thin, off-white head with good retention and light lacing.
    • Nose: The nose is citrusy, floral, and herbal with lighter sweet malt notes.  There are aromas of orange juice, orange peel, tangerine, wildflowers, herbal tea, black tea, crackery biscuit, and soft caramel.
    • Taste: Following the nose, the taste of the Down The Road is fruity, citrusy, and herbal.  There are notes of hard orange candy, orange peel, orange tea, tangerine, lemon zest, iced tea, crackery biscuit, and soft caramel/toffee.
    • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and moderately carbonation, the mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing, yet smooth with a dry, clean finish.

      Overall pairing: The Down The Road from Level Crossing Brewing is a crisp, hoppy, slightly sweet, and refreshing brew... a perfect brew for the wonderfully catch melodies and harmonies of 10cc's wonderful "The Original Soundtrack"!  'Nuff said!
