Brew Info:
- Brewery: Barbarian Brewing Company (Boise, ID)
- Website: https://barbarianbrewing.com/
- Brew: Blitzkrieg B.O.P.
- Style: Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout
- Serving: 16 ounce bottle
- ABV: 12.0%
- IBUs: 50
- Ingredients: Imperial Stout aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels for over 6 months then finished on oranges and pistachio flour.
- Pour: The Blitzkrieg B.O.P. pours an opaque, ink black hue with a fairly thin, light mocha head that dissipates to thin ring with light lacing.
- Nose: The nose is rich, chocolaty, earthy, sweet, and boozy. There are rich aromas of dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans, orange peel, vanilla bean, roasted pistachios, oak, rich bourbon, and burnt toffee.
- Taste: The taste of the Blitzkrieg B.O.P. follows the nose. It is very rich, earthy, bittersweet, nutty, and boozy. There are flavors of dark chocolate, orange chocolate, milk chocolate, a hint of espresso, vanilla, pistachio melted ice cream roasted pistachios, orange peel, orange liqueur, burnt toffee, and rich, boozy bourbon.
- Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with low carbonation, the mouthfeel is very thick, creamy, and velvety with a dry, somewhat sweet, and boozy finish.
Overall pairing: The unique, bold, yet very engaging flavors of Barbarian's Blitzkrieg B.O.P. are great for the rock and roll energy and fun of the Ramones! The bomber sized bottle is great for the double-album length as well!
Cheers!! Gabba Gabba!!
