February 13th, 2019 - Adventures In Outer Isolation

Good evening evil-doers!  The Meista here today pairing "Outer Isolation", the sophomore album by badass thrashers Vektor and an Adventures In IPA from Talisman Brewing Company!

  • Pour: The Adventures In IPA pours a clear, bronze-amber with a frothy, half-finger off-white head with good retention and lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is fruity, citrusy, dank, floral, herbal, and malty.  There are aromas of grapefruit rind, orange peel, lemon zest, mango, pineapple, pine resin, herbal tea, summer grass, wild flowers, and caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Adventures In IPA is fruity (tropical and citrusy), herbal, and malty.  There are notes of juicy pink grapefruit, orange, tangerine, mango, a touch of pine, fresh herbs, crackery biscuit, and light toffee.  
  • Mouthfeel: Medium in body and moderately carbonated, the mouthfeel of the Adventures In IPA is crisp, somewhat slick, and sharp with a dry, slightly bitter finish.
Overall pairing: The Talisman Adventures In IPA is a very crushable, citrusy, and slightly bitter brew... great for the unique thrash onslaught that is Vektor's "Outer Isolation"!!  'Nuff said!
