April 6th, 2019 - A Test Phaze From Beyond


Good afternoon headbangers and hopheads!  The Meista here today pairing Massacre's "From Beyond"and a Test Phaze IPA from Uinta Brewing Company!

  • Pour: The Test Phaze IPA pours a slightly hazy golden-yellow with a 1-finger, bright white head with good retention and soapy lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is very citrusy, fruit, grainy, and floral.  There are aromas of grapefruit, lemon, orange juice, mango, fresh mountain flowers, lemongrass, herbal tea, light pine resin, doughy bread, and crackery biscut.
  • Taste: The taste of the Test Phaze IPA follows the nose with lots of citrus, tropical fruit, crackery grain, and light herbal flavors.  There are notes of juicy pink grapefruit, orange juice, tangerine, mango, pineapple, sourdough bread, crackers, grassy hops, lemon tea, and light pine.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel is very crisp, smooth, and juicy with a dry, clean finish.

Overall pairing: The Uinta Test Phaze IPA is a very bright, very flavorful, punchy, and crushable brew that is pefect for throwing back whilst pumping your fists and wrecking your neck to the brutal death metal onslaught that is Massacre's very underrated "From Beyond"!!  'Nuff said!
