October 7th, 2025 - Escaping Gravity into a Liquid Placidity

 


Hello proggers, rockers, rollers, and hop freaks!  Happy Tuesday!  The Meista here pairing "Liquid Placidity", the debut album by Artica (who would change their name to Pangaea) and a hoppy and juicy Escaping Gravity Hazy IPA from Roadhouse Brewing Company!  And a huge thank you to Andi and all the Pangaea lads for this amazing CD!  Hells yeah!

  • Pour: The Escaping Gravity pours a pale, very hazy golden-yellow hue with a foamy 1-finger, bright white head with good retention and lots of sudsy lacing
  • Nose: The nose is fruity (citrus, stone, and tropical), and citrusy with more subtle malt sweetness.  There are aromas of orange juice and zest, grapefruit rind, tangerine, peach, mango, guava, coconut, pineapple, light honeydew melon, and soft caramel.
  • Taste: The taste of the Escaping Gravity is characterized by tropical fruit, citrus, stone fruit, nutty, and malty flavors.  There are notes of orange juice, pineapple, tangerine, peach, pink grapefruit, guava, mango, nutty coconut, a hint of dank bitterness in the back, and light toffee/caramel. 
  • Mouthfeel: Medium in body with moderate carbonation, the mouthfeel of the Escaping Gravity is crisp and very juicy with a dry, soft, yet somewhat bitter finish.

Overall pairing: The Escaping Gravity is a bold, fruity, complex, and punchy brew... perfect for the !  Both demand your undivided attention, both are full of flavor, and both are tasty as hell!
