    Brew Info:
  • Brewery: Unibroue (Chambly, Quebec, Canada)
  • Website: http://www.unibroue.com/
  • Brew: La Fin du Monde
  • Style: Triple Golden Ale
  • Serving: 12 ounce bottle
  • ABV: 9.0%
  • IBUs: 19
  • Pour: Hazy honey-gold amber with a big, 2-finger frothy head that recedes to a thin ring with complex cascading lacing.
  • Nose: The nose is full of yeast goodness, malts, and fruit ester.  With a very floral and fruity bouquet, there are complex aromas of pineapple, cloves, banana, honey, coriander, toffee, and booze.
  • Taste: The taste is slightly boozy and "mildly yeasty with a complex palate of malt, fruit and spice notes".  There are flavors of clove, pink bubblegum, rock candy, tangerine, pineapple, pear, and soft banana along with biscuit and black pepper.
  • Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with high carbonation, the mouthfeel is very effervescent with a dry, yet crisp finish.  It finishes with a nice spiciness that is very subtle and perfect for this style of ale.
  • Notes:  La Fin du Monde has earned more medals and awards than any other Canadian beer.
Overall pairing: The amazing artistic and craftsman brilliance that can be contained in a 12 ounce bottle of beer or in the confines of a compact disc is really astonishing when you think about it... especially when it is the brilliance of Pink Floyd and Unibroue!  The complexity of the La Fin du Monde is a wonderful companion to the sheer profundity of "Delicate Sound Of Thunder"... truly wonderful!!

À votre santé!!  Shine on you crazy diamonds!!
