November 22nd, 2016 - Fully Engaged By DiseNgageD

Good afternoon headbangers!  I've special treat for you today... a band review!  Last night I was lucky enough to see local extreme death/thrash metal band DiseNgageD open for Fleshgod Apocalypse, Arkona, and The Agonist at the Metro Music Hall in Salt Lake City, Utah!  I've actually paired DiseNgageD's music before on Brews and Tunes.  (Check 'em out: http://brewsandtunes.blogspot.com/2014/12/december-17th-2014-mass-graveyard-sale.html and http://brewsandtunes.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-2nd-2013-hung-on-ipa.html!)

I love live music... especially high-energy, aggressive, powerful extreme metal!   DiseNgageD's performance on Monday night embodied all the fury, integrity, and passion you hope for in a live metal show.  Although a short set, DiseNgageD immediately grabbed hold of the audience and didn't let up until that last guitar note faded out.  The thunderous rhythm section of monster drummer Dylan "Demon" Dawes and the precision of bassist Sean Herrera set a tight and powerful groove throughout, while the dual guitar work of Tyler Gehman and Chase "Carnage" Williams overlaid a fast, fiery, and furious, and at times also soaring and inspiring ambience.  And this is, of course, all set against Dez Troy's take-no-prisoners, in-your-face, brutal vocal dominance!  I'm getting amped up again just reliving it in my mind!

Here's their full set list:
  1. "Unearthing"
  2. "Mass Grave"
  3. "Inferno"
  4. "The Path To Hell"
  5. "Sleepless"
  6. "Abuse"
  7. "Hazardous"
  8. "I Am The Devil"
Oh, and I enjoyed an Upslope Belgian-Style Blonde Ale on tab whilst listening to DiseNgageD.  According to the beer's description, it is "brewed just for Utah" and "carries scents of honey crisp apples and champagne.  It is a bright, gently carbonated beer, both light-bodied and easy drinking. The soft tropical fruit character, with a hint of white grapes imparted from the guava puree, offers a touch of complexity to the clean, bright, drinking experience of a Belgian-Style Blonde Ale".

In all honesty, I didn't pay that much attention to the beer, although it was rather tasty.  I was just too enthralled by DiseNgageD's inspiring performance!

Hails!!!
